Sperm Freezing

Sperm freezing is done on a regular basis when indicated as in

  • ART programs as a back up
  • When the male partner works overseas
  • Males undergoing cancer treatment
  • Rare situtions of declining sperm count

Testicular tissue is frozen when TESA ICSI is planned. The sperm and the testicular tissue can be preserved for any length of time. The pregnancy rates are similar with fresh and frozen samples.
